Breakfast review: Forty Seven Kirwan Street

Happy Monday munchkins, trust you all had a happy weekend. Part of my Sunday was spent at a little cafe called Forty Seven Kirwan Street, obviously on Kirwan Street and number 47 to be exact! J, G and I were not only in the presence of Perth royalty, Pav and his hot wife (and bub), but plenty of other hungry brunchers (yes, I know I just made that word up). We had a 20 minute wait, which gave us time to peruse the menu, spy on Pav’s hot wife, catch up on the latest gossip and discuss the issues of the day. DSC_0820DSC_0818
You will all be proud to know that I ventured from normality and gave eggs and avocado on GF bread a miss and tried the below corn and ricotta fritters with avocado and jalapeño sour cream. DSC_0798DSC_0799
J joined me on the fritter adventure and we both loved them, we were happy little fritters. DSC_0804 G, put on her Goldy Locks hat and ordered the rolled oats and pearl barley porridge and said it was delicious!DSC_0806
G and I didn’t go crazy for the coffee, but we are very hard to please in that department and to J the coffee was fine – so each to your own, our taste buds may be a little precious.
Anyway, enough about that – allow me take your eyes down sweet lane. DSC_0809DSC_0810DSC_0813 They had an array of delicious looking cakes, brownies, tarts and my favourite, macaroons.
The staff were friendly, although, they could have done with a few more on and our food took a little while to get to our bellies BUT the food was good, so once we had it, the wait was quickly forgotten.

Seven across the board! The lack of good coffee and long waiting times was drowned out by the incredible tasting food. This is a great little cafe tucked away in Floreat and one I am super glad we discovered and gave a go. Maybe next weekend you should too (I doubt Pav will be there though, sorry!)

Love xx
